Summer is here and its not long enough! Sacred has been out and about enjoying the hot, humid past few weeks here in NYC. We have done a few street fairs and the Eco Fest in Prospect Park. It always feels great to get out of the shop and mingle with the community, see old friends and meet new ones and feel the heat.

Some one recently told me finding and living your passion is the fountain of youth, well I have spent this summer drinking madly! I have met some amazing people here in the apothecary, the members of our meetup group http://www.meetup.com/Sacred-Herbalists-Wisdom-Keepers/, the members of our Shared Learning Circle a lose circle of healing professionals that gather in our store to share their healing modalities; the students in our Level II Herbal Education Program, and others, and it just keeps getting better each day. We have also had the opportunity to visit Wassiac Community Farm in Wassiac, NY and harvest medicinal FLOWERS! St. John's Wort, Red Clover, Queen Anne's Lace, etc- my favorite to harvest.

Looking ahead - Sacred will focus on finalizing its apprenticeship program for this winter and continuing to teach workshops this fall/winter. Here are some of the courses on the schedule:

September 6th - Naturally Healthy Children - Herbal approaches to the most common childhood illnesses.

September 20th - Herbs for Stress and Depression - Heal the Spirit with herbs.

October 11th - Herbs for Beauty - A afternoon of pampering using herbs!

October 25th - Herbs for Women - Address feminine issues using natures remedies.

November 8th - Herbs to support a healthy immune system - be prepared for the flu season, herbally!

December 6th - Herbs for the Holidays -Learn how to incorporate herbs into your holiday celebration. Make simple gifts for your loved ones.
